The long story
Prior to launching Shine Editorial in 2019, I worked as a marketing and communications professional for 20 years. My skills and experience are firmly rooted in cultural, heritage, leisure, tourism and business sectors.
My career has always focused on the importance of clear, concise and credible communication. I love working with words. They hold such power and can inform, inspire, entertain, influence and so much more. When it comes to an organisation's reputation, words matter.
I've given editorial support to many brochures, books, guides, exhibitions and websites. This hands-on experience has been strengthened with industry-recognised editorial training and ongoing membership with the Chartered Institute of Editing & Proofreading (CIEP).

My work set up
Most days I work from my home office in Norwich in the east of England. Norwich is a great place to work and live; it's a creative city that loves to celebrate its amazing cultural heritage.
I enjoy the flexibility that comes with freelance life. Occasionally it's good to get away from the home office and find inspiration in a co-working space or in one of Norwich's excellent cafes serving good coffee... and cake, obviously.
Outside of work
Non-work time is for family and friends, cooking, reading and listening to podcasts. I love the theatre and belong to a long-running book club.
Other favourite things include house and garden improvements and long country walks with our dog.
