I'm Lindsey Roffe. I launched Shine Editorial in 2019 to help cultural, heritage and tourism organisations with writing, editing
and proofreading support.
The long story
I worked as a PR and communications professional for 20 years before launching Shine Editorial. My experience sits within the following sectors; cultural, heritage, museums, leisure, tourism, education and community engagement.
In the last 10 years, my work has had a strong editorial focus. I love working with words; whether it’s reading, writing, editing or listening to them. Words are powerful tools; they can inform, inspire, entertain, influence and so much more. It's what makes my job so interesting!
I have completed specialist editorial training and continue to invest in my professional development via workshops, courses and through my membership with the Chartered Institute of Editing & Proofreading (CIEP).

Where do I work?
Most days I work from my home office in Norwich in the east of England. Norwich is a great place to work and live; it's a creative city that loves to celebrate its amazing cultural heritage.
I enjoy the flexibility that comes with freelance life. Occasionally it's good to get away from the home office and find inspiration in a co-working space or in one of Norwich's excellent cafes serving good coffee... and cake, obviously.
And outside of work?
Non-work time is for family and friends, cooking, reading and listening to podcasts. I love the theatre and belong to a long-running book club.
Other favourite things include house and garden improvements and country walks with our dog, Sid.
